About Scones Recipe: Who doesn't like a zesty balance of all things sweet and sour? Scones are exactly that, baked well and served with an almond crumble on top and glazed with egg wash. A perfect treat to prepare for a kids party.

Ingredients of Scones
- 56 gms butter (cold, cubed)
- 56 gms caster sugar
- 2.5 gms salt
- 200 gms T-45 flour
- 6 gms baking powder
- 1 lemon zest
- 1 orange zest
- 1 egg
- 47 gms milk
- For almond crumble:
- 110 gms butter (cold, cubed)
- 75 gms caster sugar
- 110 gms flour
- 80 gms almond flakes
- For egg wash:
- 1 Yolk
- 30 gms milk
How to Make Scones

Rub all the dry ingredients with the cold butter till you achieve a sand like texture.

Add the eggs and milk and mix well. Rest the dough for 30 minutes. Roll to 2-3 cm thickness and freeze.
Prepare almond crumble:

Rub all together to fine crumble and keep in the freezer.
To assemble:
1.
Cut the scones using a cookie cutter and place them on a tray with parchment paper.
2.
Egg wash, place the broken crumble on top and bake at 180 C for 18-20 minutes.
3.
Once out of the oven, brush it with milk.
