A sweet and sour chutney that goes well with all those crisp tea-time treats.

Ingredients of Sonth ki Chutney

  • 1/2 cup tamarind-tightly packed
  • 3/4 cup jaggery - broken up
  • 2 tsp rock salt
  • 1 tsp black rock salt-powdered
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala

How to Make Sonth ki Chutney

  • 1.Soak the tamarind in water till soft and pulpy.
  • 2.Strain and add enough water to have a thin pouring consistency.
  • 3.Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, then simmer over low flame, till it thickens a little.
  • 4.Cool and serve.
