Shaunson enlightened the viewers about the following onions:
1) Yellow Onions
This is the workhorse of all onions. Yellow onion is a go-to option for all things cooking. It tastes strong, but not overpowering with just a hint of sweetness. Yellow onions are great for caramelising too. Although, he said, “I do not recommend eating them raw.”
2) The Red Onions
These are short, spicy and pungent which makes them great for eating raw. Red onions are usually found in sandwiches, burgers, and salads but can also be cooked. These are also great for pickling and grilling. How can you use them? Just soak them in ice if you like them extra crisp.
3) The White Onions
This is the mildest onion and will have less of an aftertaste. However, since white onions are crisp and on the sweeter side, they are great for eating raw. White onions are usually found in salsas, Latin/South American food or as a garnish.
