Raksha Bandhan is one of those fun festivals when the entire family gets together and celebrates the ‘sibling bond'. Any festival has to have some sweet delicacies as a part of tradition and this one is no different. The elderly are usually committed to their love for traditional sweets, while kids want something more contemporary. Instead of making different desserts, why not combine traditional and modern and make one sweet dish that will be loved by all?! Here is a recipe of an eggless cake made with saffron (kesar), sooji and ghee. The halwa cake will impress everyone and arouse the excitement of the kids when you serve it. It looks beautiful and tastes simply great.

This halwa cake is made with sooji (semolina) flour, which is doused in dollops of ghee. You can replace ghee with butter, but we don't really recommend that. A dash of kesar is enough to infuse a mind-blowing flavour and an inviting colour to the dish. The cake is baked by using all the quintessential halwa ingredients and enhanced by a dash of lime juice and topped with cream, rose petals and pistachios.
This special recipe of cake has been shared by popular baker Deeba Rajpal through her YouTube channel ‘Passionate About Baking'. You can watch the recipe video right here and don't forget to make this unique dessert for your family and friends.
