There is something about the hills that continue to attract us no matter how many times we visit. If you've lived in north India, you will be well aware about how the city people will simply take off to the hills of Himachal and Uttarakhand when the monotony of city would strike. From Manali, Shimla, and Nainital, to Dehradun and Mussoorie, every place has a distinct vibe and culture to it that never fails to call us back. And thinking of all the amazing cafes that these hill stations have, we can't help but plan a trip as often as possible. And guess what, our celebrities are no different.
If you've been to Landour near Mussoorie, you will know of countless cutesy cafes that don the cantonment town. On a recent trip, we came across one cafe that even our master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has on his favourites list. Yes, you read that right. Landour is a quaint town that sits atop Mussoorie and is popular for being home to writer Ruskin Bond, with a history of British cantonment, peanut butter and quirky cafes inspired by the British history of the town. While the new cafes are as popular as they can be, the old crop of restaurants haven't lost their charm.
Adjoining the iconic St Paul's Church is a market of Char Dukan that is as old as the church itself. From catering to the household needs to serving a wholesome breakfast, Char Dukan has it all. One joint inside the market is the little Anil's Café that has been there for more than 50 years, serving sumptuous snacks and beverages.
Here's all that happened when NDTV visited the popular Anil's Cafe!
Be it ginger lemon honey tea, bun-omelette and instant noodles or the sinfully delicious waffles and pancakes, Anil Aggarwal at Anil's Café has everything you could crave for breakfast. The popular eatery has everyone - from tourists to local students - flocking all day long! The fluffy chocolate pancake with chocolate cubes topped over at Anil's Café is enough to make you a fan. No wonder Sachin Tendulkar couldn't hold himself back from tweeting about the place when he visited Landour for New Year's in 2015. Have a look!

Sachin is said to be a regular in Landour and during one such visit, posted this photo that even graces a wall at the café. While Sachin enjoyed a true blue desi meal with parathas, dahi and achaar along with bun omelette, one can choose from piping hot momos and chai to cold coffee and eggs, pizzas and pancakes to crispy waffles and even shakes. There is enough variety to spoil you with choice. So, the next time you are in Landour, make sure to make a pit-stop at this little spot to enjoy some lip-smacking food to soak in the sun and the hilly chill.
