If you set out to explore the vast Indian street food realm, you'll be spoilt for choice. But some of the few popular snacks still remain our favourite - samosa being one of them. The fried, guilt-ridden delicacy never fails to impress our taste buds, and it's a good thing that you can get it in different varieties to suit your taste preference. If you want your samosa to be typically crispy and spicy, here is a recipe for khasta masala samosa that you can easily make at home. This is a quick samosa recipe in which you don't have to spend much time cooking the masala for the samosa.
The mini samosa recipe video was shared on the YouTube channel 'Cook With Parul'. This chatpata, crispy samosa is perfect to serve during the upcoming Holi 2021 festivities too.
Follow these easy steps to make a khasta masala mini samosa snack:
Step 1 - Knead the dough with 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour and half cup whole wheat flour. Add some salt, ajwain, about 4 tbsp of oil and 1tsp lemon juice.
Step 2 - When the dough starts binding, add water for kneading and prepare the semi-soft dough.
Step 3 - Now, make masala stuffing for the samosa. Grind together 1 cup aloo bhujia, 1 cup moong dal namkeen, half cup namkeen mixture, cashew nuts and some salted peanuts.
Step 4 - Add red chilli powder, chaat masala, some salt and black pepper powder. Give it a few pulses to make a coarse mixture.
Step 5 - Add some raisins (kishmish), schezwan sauce or tomato ketchup, and mix well. Make small balls with the mixture and keep them aside.
Step 6 - Now, roll roti from the dough of medium thickness and cut into diamond-shaped pieces. Apply water on edges and fill with masala balls. Close the ends firmly and deep fry.
