How about using a smart cup to monitor your calories and prevent you from binge drinking? This latest technological invention can relieve much of the stress that comes with binge drinking as you'd know exactly when to seal your lips. A San Francisco-based company, Mark One has developed a device that can accurately identify your drink, tell you how many calories you are consuming and alert you when it is time to drink again. (More: Even one night of heavy drinking is harmful)It is called Vessyl or the "smart" cup and it can display a particular set of data to help you achieve certain goals, such as losing weight or regulating caffeine. The cup is made of a glass-like material and can hold about 385 ml of liquid.
When a beverage is poured in, certain text appears on the side of the cup which reveals what the drink is.The sliding lid of the cup is spill proof and it has a non-stick interior, making it easy to clean. The cup can measure the caffeine levels of a drink that has been poured into it, along with the sugar, protein, calorie and fat content. The smart cup is synced to an app, which further provides data about what the user has been drinking throughout the day. The exact functions are being kept as a closely-guarded secret by its makers. According to media reports, shipment for the device is likely to start in early 2015.With inputs from IANS
