This Tandoori Fruit recipe makes use of fruits at home and gives them a texture and flavour which is unbelievably delicious. The fruits are marinated in spices, lemon juice and tamarind paste just like vegetables or chicken would be. The fruits are then skewered and grilled in a tandoor or an oven as per availability. The tangy edge of the tamarind paste blends so well with the natural sugar in these fruits. The fruits have a smoky flavour from the outside and retain their original texture on the inside.
The best part about the Tandoori Fruit recipe is that it can be made in 30 minutes. A quick 15-minute preparation, followed by just 15 minutes of cook time is all you need. The recipe serves two people and uses four different kinds of whole fruits in its preparation. - 1 red apple
- 1 green apple
- 1 guava
- 1/4 pineapple
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- Cut the fruits into large cubes.
- In a bowl, add fruits, red chilli powder, lemon juice and tamarind paste.
- Mix everything well.
- Skewer the fruits and put it in a tandoor or oven.
- Cook for 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees celsius.
- Serve with chutney and onions.
