Ultra High Temperature (UHT) processed milk would soon be distributed in anganwadi centres, government schools and CRPF camps of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Raman Singh inaugurated the distribution of the UHT-processed milk under a pilot project for government school-goers at an anganwadi centre in Gariaband district, a government spokesperson shared.Flavoured milk would be distributed by the Chhattisgarh Rajya Dugdh Mahasangh to anganwadis, primary schools, middle schools, residential schools and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camps once in a week, he said. The Chief Minister also noted the fact that the UHT milk distribution would be started in other districts soon.
Mr. Singh lauded the increase in tate's milk production capacity and the self-sufficiency it has attained on the that front, the spokesperson said. Normal milk needs refrigeration to prevent it from being infected by bacteria, while UHT-processed milk remains fresh for longer period even without preservation.
