It's the World Sleep day today. World Sleep Day is celebrated to promote awareness about sleeping and importance of proper sleeping patterns, sleep quality and consequences of poor sleep. The urban lifestyle, increase in stress and anxiety, and poor dietary choices have taken an immense toll on our sleep. The number of people complaining of sleep deprivation has witnessed a rampant growth. According to experts, one must sleep at least eight hours a day. It is very critical to ensure your body gets these eight hours of rest to recover from the day's load and prepare for the day that lies ahead. Sleep is crucial for repair and recovery of blood vessels; lack of sleep can cause irritability and may reduce focus, result in weight gain and even lead to depression.
Clove Remedy For Sound Sleep
Sleep deprivation should not be taken lightly; if the condition is chronic it demands immediate medical attention. If it is not so chronic, then there are a plenty of home remedies you could bring to your use too. One of the most trusted remedies to induce sleep is the clove oil remedy.
Mix four drops of clove oil with salt and apply it on your forehead and you would feel instant relief from any discomfort, enabling you to sleep better. You can also apply some warm clove oil along with sesame oil on the forehead, right before bedtime and have a sound sleep.

Cloves are an integral part of every Indian kitchen cabinet; they have shared a prominent place in Ayurveda and ancient Chinese medicine. The pungent herb is known to treat nausea, digestive disorders and flu. While clove is essentially a winter spice and the shelf life of the herb is long, you can store the herb all through the year and make yourself some clove oil at home itself.
In addition to helping you sleep better, clove's active compounds and anti-inflammatory effects helps soothe head-aches, muscle pain and joint pains. It is also effective in healing cold and flu. All of these factors often come in way of good sleep too.

If you do not have clove oil around, you can also brew yourself some clove tea at home and drink it before you go to sleep. Take one teaspoon of clove and grind it coarsely. Now, add this powder to a cup of water. Allow it to boil for 5-10 minutes. Strain it and drink. You can add a teaspoon of honey to the tea too. Make sure you add honey after you are done boiling. It is a good idea to keep a window of one, one and a half hour between drinking this tea and your bedtime.
