Taking Yoga to Another Level: Celebrities Catch on to the Aerial Yoga Trend
The need to de-stress, unwind and stay fit, all at the same time has attracted many celebrities to the mat. Yoga's spiritual edge has made it popular amongst the popular - Julia Roberts, Demi Moore, Adama Levinne and Madonna, to name a few. They've shared their love for yoga all over social media and have encouraged us all to pursue it.

And now some celebrities have taken yoga to even greater heights. Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Mariah Carey, Natalie Portman and Pink have developed a certain liking for a new kind of yoga, called 'aerial yoga'.

What is Aerial Yoga

  • Aerial yoga uses the dynamic art of suspension to help create new stretches that open up your body.
  • It involves the use of a suspended hammock for support. With the help of this you can take traditional yoga poses with much ease without stressing your joints.
  • The suspended hammock takes the pressure off the spine and joints, which improves blood flow and is particularly useful to stretch the spine. It also works brilliantly if you're looking to get good abs, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
It's a spunky new fitness craze that crept up last year in studios across America and has now caught the likings of many popular celebrities. A website reported Gwyneth Paltrow saying, "Part of what makes it so special is the sense of suspension.  In comparison to other yoga classes, the moves felt constructive without feeling like a chore."
