Starbucks lovers on the internet are up in arms, after a video, showing the wastage of perfectly good food and untouched supplies, has taken social media by storm. The clip was recorded by Anna Sacks, who is well known by the name 'The Trash Walker'. Throwing light on everyday waste, Anna documents her trash walks. Anna was continuing the same, when she stumbled upon the dumpster of Starbucks on the upper west side of New York. What she witnessed in the bins left all in shock. The video revealed that the coffee chain disposed of innumerable untouched packaged food in a massive trash bag. The clip came to light after a Twitter user shared it online with the caption, “A New York Starbucks closed down, and someone walking by outside found a pile of trash bags filled to the brim with food, coffee, and supplies. The idea that there's not enough to go around is a dangerous myth.”

The video opens with Anna Sacks saying, “So this used to be a Starbucks on the upper west side,” and then pans the camera showing the dumpster. As per Anna, the outlet was allegedly closing, making its employees throw away food items in bulk. Saying her “spider senses are tingling,” Anna shows what's inside the trash bag. The clip reveals countless packages of cold egg dishes and croissants. And what will leave you stunned is the fact that the expiry dates stamped on them revealed that the food was good to be eaten by October 2023. Apart from the egg dishes, Anna also found several packages of meat dishes. While taking a look at it, she was heard saying that because she doesn't eat meat, she will let her friends know about it, so that it can be used.

Other than croissants, egg and meat dishes, Anna Sack found a sack full of ground coffee, paper and plastic cups, boxes of green iced tea sachet, brownies and many packets of bagels. She even found kind bars. Wondering what she did with it? Well, she stocked her pantry. Yes, you read it right. Anna carried as much as she required and stocked her supplies. She said, “I'm gonna have eggs for days. Anna also shared the clips on her Instagram handle with the caption, “Starbucks are closing.”
As soon as the video garnered attention, people were quick to express their disappointment towards Starbucks.
A comment read, “There's a Starbucks on every corner. Why not just hand over those unused cups & foods to another store?!”
Another user commented, “This is disgusting. I don't understand why they wouldn't just give it to one of the thousand other Starbucks in the city. Or let their staff take it home. They're closing the store and throwing it out, why bother with the charade of "staff can't take it" nonsense.”
A third user wrote hilariously, “But they are saving the planet with their paper straws lmaoooo.”
