Rice is one of the most basic ingredients of the Indian cuisine. It is consumed by itself as well as with curries, vegetables and lentils. Rice is even used as a building block to prepare the batter for for many dishes such as Idli, Dosa and more. Flattened rice becomes Poha, and puffed rice is Murmura. Rice water too is considered highly nutritious and beneficial for hair and skin. The ubiquitous grain recently found itself in the news when a senior citizen used homegrown rice to thank the team of doctors that was treating him for Covid-19. Take a look at the doctor's tweet:

The picture of the rice was shared on Twitter by Dr. Urvi Shukla, who goes by the username @docurvishukla on the micro-blogging website. She spoke in the tweet about how a senior citizen contracted Coronavirus and was admitted to the hospital. He was on ventilator for 12 days and in the ICU for 15 days, post which he recovered from the disease. Since he was a free patient, he wanted to express his gratitude to the team of doctors for serving him and aiding his recovery. So, he decided to gift them a bag of homegrown rice from his own field.
The heartwarming story soon went viral on Twitter. The picture shared by Dr. Urvi Shukla garnered over 3.3k likes and counting. Several hundreds of users poured in their reactions, praising the doctor and the man who thanked her. Take a look at the reactions.
