Cutting a coconut requires skill and precision, which often comes with years of experience. Mastering the art of coconut cutting also needs an understanding of its structure and where to apply the pressure for a clean split sans spilling any water. So, when a man and his grandmother took the challenge of determining who cut coconuts better, the winner was clearly the granny. Reason? Her technique and method. The man posted the video of the fun competition on Instagram, which grabbed the Internet's attention in no time. The text attached to the clip reads, “POV: Grandma says she could cut coconut better than me.”

The clip opens with the man and his grandmother holding the Aruvaal (coconut-cutting tool). Two coconuts lay on a table in front of them. Soon, they begin the coconut-cutting session with great enthusiasm. They sliced the coconut from the top to make a narrow end exposing the inner contents. Although the man finished first, his grandmom showed her expertise by not spilling a drop of coconut water during the entire process. By the end of the video, the grandson was forced to declare his grandmother the winner. He said, “No water was wasted.” Afterwards, the elderly woman even cut open the coconut in two perfect halves and savoured the coconut meat inside. The side note said, “Who's better?” Of course, it was the grandmother.
Reacting to the clip, a user said, “Gramma is better. She didn't waste a drop!! Quality over efficiency.”
Echoing a similar sentiment, another chimed in, “Grandma won, hers didn't spill. You were in a hurry to win, but she was focused on doing it right..”
“Granny win ah sorry but she has technique,” read a remark.
Praising the grandmother, a person said, “Grandma won cos you are about speed to open it up but she's all about precision and accuracy.”
“No water wasted now that's the real boss, high five granny....job well done,” lauded an individual
