India is a land of vast culinary diversity. From main course to appetisers, desserts to drinks - we have so much to choose from. One of the most popular summer drinks in India is the thandai. A milk-based drink, thandai is basically made by combining dry fruits and sugar into a smooth paste. Recently, popular blogger Amar Sirohi shared a video of the making of the Thandai drink in Punjabi. The video has gone viral. Take a look:

The video of the drink was shared on YouTube by the blogger, where it has received 280k views and 5k likes. In the clip, we could see the making of the thandai, which is also called 'Shardai' in Punjab. First, a number of dry fruits, seeds and spices were added to a grinder to make a fine paste including almonds, cardamom, rose petals, black pepper and more. Then, this paste was added to a muslin cloth and tied tightly and added to a drum of water. Thus, the extract of the paste was mixed into the water to give it an interesting flavour. Sugar, milk and ice were added to the shardai drink which was served chilled.
The interesting making video of thandai or shardai got a flurry of reactions online. Many said that it was no less than a protein supplement. "So nutritious natural protein supplement," said one user. "I just love your content. You are the only one who covers the perspective in depth and brings it out to us which we aren't aware of.
