Ingredients of Almond and Makhana Kheer

  • 2 Cups Full cream milk
  • 4 cups sugar/sugar substitute
  • A pinch of Saffron strands
  • 1/2 tsp Green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup Almond slivers
  • 1 cup Makhana (fox nuts)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee

How to Make Almond and Makhana Kheer

Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan and roast the makhana and almond slivers until they turn golden brown.

In another heavy-bottomed pan, heat the milk with saffron strands and bring it to a boil, stirring continuously to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom.

Add sugar/sugar substitute to the milk and stir until fully dissolved.
4.
Add the roasted makhana to the milk, followed by the almond slivers.
5.
Continue cooking until the makhana softens and the milk thickens slightly.
6.
Serve the kheer either hot or chilled, topped with roasted almond slivers and chopped roasted makhana.
