How to make Bombay Duck

Flavoursome and rich Bombay duck marinated in a beautiful yellow paste and fried in rice batter till crisp. Despite its name, Bombay duck is not a duck but a type of lizardfish.

Ingredients of Bombay Duck

  • 3 pieces of Bombay duck
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 200 gm rice batter
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 200 ml oil
  • Paste- grind some ginger, garlic and green chillies together

How to Make Bombay Duck

  • 1.Make fillets of the Bombay duck.
  • 2.Marinate in paste, turmeric, chilli powder, lemon juice and salt for 30 minutes.
  • 3.Coat the fish with rice batter and deep fry until crisp.
  • 4.The dish is ready to serve.
