Buknu is a powered mixture of several spices. It is an ancient recipe, popular in parts of Uttar Pradesh. It is a local hit for rendering a distinct taste to delicacies.

Ingredients of Buknu

  • 1 cup amchur
  • 1 cup salt or to taste
  • 2 tsp haldi powder
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/8 tsp heeng
  • 1 tsp kala jeera
  • 1 badi elaichi-seeds only

How to Make Buknu

  • 1.Heat oil and saute jeera, heeng, kala jeera and badi elaichi till a little aroma emanates.
  • 2.Cool the sauteed ingredients.
  • 3.Add amchur, salt and haldi
  • 4.Powder all the ingredients in a blender.
  • 5.Store in an airtight jar.
