Succulent deep fried meat kebabs with aromatic flavors and masalas. Served with a chilli garlic chutney.

Ingredients of Cocktail Shami Kebab

  • 250 gm ground meat (mutton)
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 rounded Tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp shredded ginger
  • 50 gm channa dal
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 150 ml water
  • 1 small egg
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp shahi zeera (royal cumin)
  • 2 green chillies-finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp coriander- finely chopped
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Oil for frying
  • Chutney:
  • 20 red chillies
  • 50 ml lemon juice
  • 2
  • 1 Tbsp peeled garlic cloves
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Cocktail Shami Kebab

  • 1.Cook meat, onions, garlic, chilli powder, ginger and dal together with oil, salt and water until the liquid evaporates.
  • 2.Cool and grind.
  • 3.Bind with the egg and add the remaining ingredients.
  • 4.Knead well. Shape into small, flat roundels and deep fry.
  • 5.Serve with chutney.
  • For the chutney:
  • 1.Grind all ingredients to a paste.
  • 2.Season and serve at room temperature.
