A simple recipe where buttered plums are topped with flaming rum and served with praline.

Ingredients of Flambed Plums

  • 450 gm plums
  • 50 gm butter
  • 75 gm sugar
  • 40 ml rum
  • For the praline:
  • 50 gm almonds
  • 50 gm sugar topping
  • 4 scoops ice-cream
  • 4 sprigs of mint

How to Make Flambed Plums

  • 1.To prepare praline, melt sugar in a pan and add almonds.
  • 2.Turn onto an oiled tray and leave to set.
  • 3.Then melt butter in a pan and add halved plums.
  • 4.Sprinkle sugar and cover with a lid.
  • 5.Cook for five minutes.
  • 6.Arrange a few plums on a serving dish and flambe with warm rum.
  • 7.Place a scoop of ice cream on top of the plums.
  • 8.Finish with crushed praline and a sprig of mint.
