How to Make Green Keema (Dry)

Green Keema (Dry) : This flavourful keema is wholesome and easy to prepare. Cooked in a ‘masala’ made with onions, ginger-garlic, mint, coriander and spices, this dry green keema is hard to resist. You can pair it with bread or parathas, and also use it as a filling to make other snacks.

Ingredients of Green Keema (Dry)

  • 250 gms chicken keema (mince)
  • 1/4 tsp green peas
  • 1 big onion, finely chopped
  • 6 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 2-inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (or 1 tbsp vinegar)
  • 1 tsp haldi (turmeric powder)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp dhania powder
  • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
  • 1 tsp saunf (fennel) powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Green Keema (Dry)

Wash and drain the mince. Boil it with the green peas with half a cup of water on low flame. Stir occasionally till cooked and dried.

In a kadhai, heat oil and add curry leaves, ginger, garlic, green chillies and saute for a few minutes.

Add chopped onions and mix. Once they turn translucent, add the cooked mince and peas and saute for 5 minutes. The heat should now be on low.

Add salt to taste and the spices (masalas) mentioned above. Mix well for 2 minutes.

Add the lemon juice or vinegar, followed by the chopped mint and coriander leaves. Mix and cover the vessel for 2 minutes. Enjoy hot with pav, bread rolls, roti, etc. or use it as a stuffing.
