How to make Lahori Chicken Hareesa

Lahori chicken hareesa is often called the sister of the famous dish Haleem and there are different ways to prepare this dish such as Arabic hareesa and Kashmiri hareesa. However, lahori hareesa is the most popular one.

Ingredients of Lahori Hareesa

  • 5-6 Chicken kebabs
  • 1 cup Soaked Moong dal
  • 1 cup Soaked rice
  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 3-4 Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 4 tbsp Boiled spinach
  • Cilantro to garnish
  • 250 gram Minced chicken
  • 1 tbsp Yogurt

How to Make Lahori Hareesa

Boil soaked moong daal, rice and oats together. Once boiled, blend them in a blender.

Heat oil in a pan and sautee onion until golden brown. Then add, minced chicken, ginger garlic paste, yogurt, spinach, green chilli, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder.

Cover the pot and let it cook for sometime.

Now add the blended mixture into the pot.

Cover the pan and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, keep stirring to avoid burning.

Now, take 5-6 kebabs and fry them into another pan.
7.
Add the kebabs into the hareesa gravy and cover it for 2-3 minutes.
8.
Garnish it with cilantro and your kebab curry is ready to relish.
