As the name suggests, this vadai recipe is made with minced mutton (keema) along with a host of spices and fried until golden to the perfection.

Ingredients of Mutton Vadai

  • 200 gms Mutton Keema
  • 2 tbsp Gram flour
  • 1/2 cup Chana Dal
  • 2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tbsp Garlic Paste
  • Handful of Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • As Required Water
  • 1 small Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • To Taste Red Chilli
  • Handful of Curry Leaves
  • to taste Salt

How to Make Mutton Vadai

To begin with the recipe, you first need to take a large mixing bowl. Mix fennel seeds, chana dal, cumin seeds and green chillies in it.

Now, add water to the bowl and soak the dal for about 45 mins. After that, drain the excess water. In a grinder, grind the dal into a coarse paste.

Take minced meat and put it in the grinder to make a thick paste. Take a bowl and add gram flour, asafoetida and garam masala in it.

In a seperate bowl, mix curry leaves, chopped onions, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste and salt. Now combine all the ingredients together in one large bowl.

Form the mix into small balls and flatten them to give them the shape of vadai.

Take a deep frying pan and heat oil in it. Fry the vadai in the pan until they turn golden brown in colour.
7.
Drain the excess oil and dry the cutlets by using tissues.
8.
Serve and enjoy!
