About Palak Dal Recipe: Moong dal cooked with the goodness of spinach. Topped with corn kernels.

Ingredients of Palak Dal

  • 100 gms moong dal
  • 200 gms tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1/2 kg cooked spinach paste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 Dried red chillies
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 diced onions
  • 4 tbsp cooked corn kernels
  • to taste salt

How to Make Palak Dal

  • 1.Boil moong dal along with tomatoes and green chillies.
  • 2.Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, red chillies and garlic. Saute for 5 minutes.
  • 3.Mix the cooked dal with the spices and bring to a boil.
  • 4.Stir in spinach and season well.
  • 5.Finally add cooked corn kernels.
  • 6.Serve hot with steamed rice.
