About Prawns Tempura Roll Recipe: Prawns tempura is raw shrimp dipped into tempura batter and deep-fried in hot oil. The batter that is used to make the tempura consists of flour, water, and cornstarch.

Ingredients of Prawns Tempura Roll

  • 100 gms sushi rice
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 gms tempura batter mix
  • 4 pcs shrimp (peeled and deveined), large
  • 10 gms mayonnaise
  • 30 gms avocado
  • 20 gms English cucumber
  • 1 Toasted nori seaweed sheets
  • 10 gms black and white sesame seeds
  • Corn oil (for deep frying)

How to Make Prawns Tempura Roll

  • 1.Cut the shrimp– Make shallow slits into the inner part of each shrimp. It is better to make 5 slits for each shrimp as it prevents your shrimp from curling during the frying process.
  • 2.Mix up the batter– Mix the dry tempura batter mixture with cold water in a large bowl. Pat the shrimp dry and dip them into the batter.
  • 3.Dip and fry– Fry the battered shrimp in a pot of oil over medium-high heat until golden brown.
  • 4.Place the bamboo sushi mat, and spread the noori sheet on it. Evenly spread the sushi rice on the sheet and add fried prawns with avocado, cucumber and sauce to it. Roll it and serve.
