Ingredients of Ragi Cheela

  • 1 Cup ragi flour
  • 2 tbsp besan
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • 2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 4 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup capsicum
  • 1 tbsp crushed cashew nuts (optional)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • Ghee/ Oil for roasting the cheelas

How to Make Ragi Cheela

In a bowl, mix ragi flour, besan and curds. Then add the chopped vegetables mentioned above to this batter.

Add cashew, chilli powder, ginger and salt to taste. Add water as required to form a thick, lump-free batter. Cover and set it aside for around 20 minutes.

Heat a non-stick tawa/ pan and grease it with ghee. Add 2 ladlefuls of the batter on top and spread in a circular shape. Add 1 tsp of ghee around the cheela and 1 tsp on top of it.

Cover and cook for approximately 4-5 minutes. Later, flip and cook on the other side too, uncovered.
5.
Serve the cheelas hot with ketchup, hari chutney, coconut chutney or any other.
