This is a delicious vrat-friendly snack doesn’t use any salt, atta, onion or garlic! This recipe makes sweet and spicy tikkis that can be the perfect tea time snack.

Ingredients of Shakarkandi Tikki

  • 4 Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Kuttu atta
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • Rock Salt
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Shakarkandi Tikki

  • 1.Rinse the sweet potatoes well in water. Roast them in the oven till they are cooked and soft.
  • 2.Or else pressure cook with enough water & salt till they become soft.
  • 3.You can also boil them in a pan with water & salt.
  • 4.Drain the water. when they cool down, then peel them.
  • 5.With a potato masher mash the sweet potatoes well.
  • 6.Add all the ingredients except oil. mix well.
  • 7.Shape into medium sized tikkis or patties.
  • 8.Pan fry the tikkis with little oil till both the sides are browned. While serving garnish with some coriander leaves.
  • 9.Serve sweet potato tikki with a chutney or sauce.
