Meat cooked with tomatoes and a spicy garlic chutney. Whip up a spicy and tangy curry, Uttaranchal style.

Ingredients of Uttaranchali Meat Curry

  • For the chutney:
  • 1 tsp garlic-chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, according to taste
  • Red chilli powder, according to taste
  • For the main preparation:
  • 1/2 kg meat-cut into desired size
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 3 Tbsp onions, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp of the prepared chutney
  • 2 Tbsp tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup water

How to Make Uttaranchali Meat Curry

  • For the chutney:
  • 1.Grind the garlic, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder together.
  • For the main preparation:
  • 1.In a pan heat oil and add onions and saute till translucent.
  • 2.Then add the prepared chutney and mix well.
  • 3.To this add the tomatoes and stir till they cook.
  • 4.Then add the meat and water and mix well.
  • 5.Cover the pan and seal it with atta from all four sides and let it cook for half an hour on low flame.
  • 6.Serve hot with rice or roti.
