I know going out for a meal can often be a bit of a challenge than it is worth, especially when you have a plethora of great restaurants to pick from now. Post-COVID, the dining space around the world has changed, for good. Restaurants and cafes are taking necessary precautions and following all the rules to keep it safe for their patrons so that they can have a safe dining experience. Spice It, Ibis Aerocity, New Delhi, is known for its relaxed, comforting vibe and, of course, elaborated delicious menu. This time, the restaurant has raised the bar by adding a few interesting food items to its menu. So if you are in the area and planning a warm family reunion or a romantic date location, stop googling "restaurants near me" as Spice It is the right place you can eat at!
Food at Spice It
Those who have dined at Spice It before will be familiar with the sheer variety the restaurant offers with regulars such as Penne Makhani Style (an interesting mix of Indian and Italian fare - Chicken Makhani and Penne arrabiata), Manipal-Style Egg Bun (scrambled egg in a soft brioche bun), Dosa Quesadilla - Prawn Ghee Roast, Phulka Soft Tacos with Peri-Peri Chicken and much more. But if you are dining here for the first time, you must try their Keema Pao (spicy lamb mince and pao bread, topped with an egg cooked sunny-side-up) and Brioche Bun Omelette (desi omelette in a toasted brioche bun with chutney and chips). My heart goes to Penne Makhani Style with Chicken and Brioche Bun Omelette

Bowl meals are the simplest and quickest meal options one can put together. No wonder they have taken over the world! Their 'Meal in a bowl' section is perfectly curated for the ones looking for comfort meal options. The section is a mix and match of Indian and Chinese meal bowls. From classic rajma chawal and dal chawal to minced chicken - hot chilli basil (with fried noodles or fried rice), you have quite a few interesting bowl meal options to try from. My recommendation from this section is Staff Chicken Curry (a special slow-cooked chicken curry that comes with a choice of rice or roti). If that's not enough, try chur chur paratha, dal makhani and raita from their 'Breads, Pizza and More', which, as the name suggests, revolves around pizzas and breads, all served in large portions. The chur chur naan was soft in the centre with crispy ends; however, dal makhani did not impress us much. You can also try their 9-inch pizzas that come with assorted toppings, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. If you wish to savour the best of non-veg pizza, then go for chicken tikka pizza - the juiciness of meaty chicken chunks embedded in gooey cheesiness can't get better than this.

Ending my meal, I made my way to the dessert section and picked out rasmalai panna cotta. An all-time favourite Indian dessert with an Italian avatar, it sure had my vote.

About Shubham BhatnagarYou can often find Shubham at a small authentic Chinese or Italian restaurant sampling exotic foods and sipping a glass of wine, but he will wolf down a plate of piping hot samosas with equal gusto. However, his love for homemade food trumps all.
