If there's anything that can soothe your exasperated nerves after a long tiring shopping splurge, it is the food orgy. Sitting atop the bustling shopping mall of Saket City Mall is Hotel Delmaar, which is one of the most frequented haunts of the perceptive shoppers and eaters of Delhi. The plush restaurant serves as the perfect getaway from the clamour of the mall. Set amidst the calming white interiors of vintage walls and furniture, the restaurant lets you take a walk down the memory lane and reminiscence the culinary treasures of the bygone era. The restaurant brings the gems of European and Mediterranean cuisines straight to your table that are full of endearing stories and memories of port and sea travels from the past times.
Hotel Delmaar is another offering from the Azure Hospitality, which has popular restaurants like Sly Granny and Mamagoto under its ambit. And, needless to say, you are in for a fabulous treat here too.
Our curiosity took us To Hotel Delmaar to try out its revamped menu. The place is famous for its refreshing cocktails, sangrias and mocktails; and we couldn't agree more. Each and every drink was more satiating than the other. We absolutely loved April (a watermelon-based drink) and Passion Fruit Orange Cooler.
We started off our gastronomical journal with Mezze Platter that was a melange of pita bread, crumbled falafel and lentil tule, paired with hummus, ghanoush, mayo and house pickles. Next, we tried their Beetroot And Poached Pear Salad. Both the dishes gave a perfect start to our meal. They were flavourful and super refreshing. Bruschetta Platter came after, which presented three types of bruschetta toppings – tomato and cheese, hummus and pickles, and sun dried tomatoes and corns. While the hummus bruschetta was a delight, the other two versions were a bit bland. But, Garlic And Paprika Prawns changed the game again with its succulent and perfectly cooked prawns and juicy broth.
For the mains, we ordered Vegetable Stew, and we thanked our stars that we did. The full-of-flavours stew served with herbed rice is a must-try dish here. Delmaar Aglio Olio pasta came up next, which is also worth trying. Chicken lovers can go for Herb Roasted Chicken, which makes for a decent eat.
Desserts lovers are surely going to love it here. We tried their Dark Chocolate Cake, Apple Pie and New York Cheesecake – all of which put a sweet smile on our face.
