Guava makes us feel full for longer time
What comes to your mind when we say guava? Is it the taste of the crunchy and mildly sweet fruit with black salt and red chilli powder sprinkled on it? This one taste takes everyone back to their childhood. Guavas are one of the most common tropical fruits, which are available in every part of the country. Other than its delightful taste, guava is a storehouse of several nutrients. Macrobiotic nutritionist and health practitioner Shilpa Arora says, "it is a low Glycaemic Index (GI) fruit, which helps in keeping blood sugar under control. This fruit can also be cherished by people suffering from diabetes and is one of the best fruits for the ones with hormonal imbalances."

It is also said that guava has high fibre content (5 gram dietary fibre on 100 gram, as per USDA), which can make up to 12 to 20 percent of your daily fibre intake. These fibres help one to feel fuller for longer time, which plays a role in helping with shedding those extra kilos. Fibre aids digestion that promotes metabolism and further leads to weight loss.
Guavas can be consumed in different forms - raw, jam, chutney or curry.
