July 4th Independence Day - Celebrate with American Classics
American Independence Day is commemorated every year on 4th of July. It marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from The Great Britain on July 4, 1776.

Being a national holiday, people indulge in various celebratory gestures. Among others, a barbeque brunch or an intimate family gathering is most common. One can easily say that the star of these family get-togethers is the quintessential American food.

A lot of ingredients and cooking styles in the American cuisine were influenced by European colonization and also the influx of immigrants later. It is known for being diverse and forward, with fast foods holding center stage. Foods like hot dogs, burgers, fried chicken, steaks & doughnuts dominate the modern menu and have a worldwide fan following.

At NDTV Cooks, we're celebrating the culinary creativity of America. We bring to you top ten American dishes, that are not just classics but the physical manifestation of their culture.
