Kareena has been quite vocal about her fitness and diet plan throughout her pregnancy and even after. An avid Yoga practitioner, Kareena has been very dilgent with her yoga sessions. She turned vegetarian, a couple of years ago and has often shared that she has never starved herself to lose weight and get in shape. In fact, a lot of credit for her fabulously toned physique goes to her good food choices. She eats frequently to keep her metabolism up but makes sure that her meals are healthy and balanced. You may have not known this but Kareena is also a foodie at heart. Here are some of the things that she enjoys to eat.
1.Kareena loves Homemade food The actress who was a part of a nutrition documentary film - Indian Food Wisdom and The Art of Eating Right by Celebrity Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, revealed at the press launch of the documentary, that she loves a hot plate of rice and dal made at home with a bit of desi ghee. This is her favourite comfort meal. Her husband Saif Ali Khan is also quite fond of the simple treat.
2.Her love for ghee At the same press launch for the nutrition documentary, Kareena admits that the secret to her glowing skin, fabulous figure, and calm mind is a spoonful of desi ghee "I think ghee is glamorous, I don't know why people don't feel that," she said. In the same event she also said, "My Dadi ji is 85 and she has been having ghee since she was two years old. She has maintained her weight through her 20s and eighties, she is fit as a fiddle, she is walking around, her knees haven't given way." Even during pregnancy, Kareena made sure she had her regular dal with a spoonful of ghee, she revealed at the book launch of 'Pregnancy Notes'.
3.Did you know about her love for aloo parathas?
A true Punjabi at heart, Kareena loves desi treats. She revealed at the nutrition documentary press launch "I wake up and tell my cook that aloo paratha banao, and put a spoon of ghee on top of it. I don't think I can eat a paratha without ghee."
4.Going back to basicsThe actress strongly believes that because there is such an outburst of information these days that people are blinded to the point of buying anything expensive and exotic. During the book launch of 'Pregnancy Notes' she shared, that staying rooted is important. She further says that looking at "miracle drugs" and aping "the west", is futile as the Indian DNA is very differently built and has different requirements.
5.Favourite Cuisine Kareena's favourite cuisines are Indian, Thai and Italian. She is quite fond of pasta and spaghetti. During a press event of the trailer launch Saif also mentioned that he has also mastered the skill to make the perfect spaghetti. He also jokingly added that his health conscious wife doesn't let him whip decadent treats so often. This shows Kareena's dedication towards a disciplined lifestyle and a healthy diet.
6.Favourite restaurant While she mostly enjoys staying at home and eating a home-cooked meal. One can often spot Kareena with Husband Saif Ali Khan or with her sister Karisma Kapoor hitting the best restaurants in town. Some of her favourite restaurants in Mumbai are Wasabi at The Taj Mahal Palace, Olive, Thai Pavilion at Taj President and Hakkasan.
7. Love for Swiss ChocolatesIn Switzerland, Kareen loves buying a lot of chocolates. In fact the thrill of taking first bite of chocolate after having stayed off it for weeks, makes for one of the most awaited food moments of the actor.
