How To Make Smoked Panchmel Dal | Easy Smoked Panchmel Dal Recipe
Digital creator Nitya Hegde (@finefettlecookerys) shared an easy recipe for smoked Panchmel dal on her Instagram page. To make this dal, start by taking 1/4th cup each of toor dal, masoor dal, chana dal, urad dal and green moong split dal. Wash and soak the dal, and set it aside. After a while, steam the pulses in a pressure cooker. In the meantime, finely chop some onions, ginger, tomatoes, green chillies, and garlic.
Take a pan and add a dollop of ghee along with cumin, hing, chopped ginger, garlic, and onions. Saute the ingredients until the onion becomes translucent. Now add tomatoes along with spices – turmeric, Kashmiri red chilli, garam masala, coriander powder, salt, kasuri methi, and red chilli. Mix the ingredients well before adding some water. Once the tomatoes become mushy, add the steamed pulses to the mixture. Chop some coriander leaves and add in the panchmel dal along with some ghee. Take a block of charcoal and place it in a dal pan. Top it with some ghee and cover the lid so that it releases its smoky flavour into the dal. Serve this panchmel dal with rice and enjoy!
