Eating out is a rejuvenating experience. It gives us a much-needed break in the form of an outing, gives us time out from cooking and treats our taste buds to delicious flavours. That's why some people don't mind spending a little extra for a good meal at a fancy restaurant for the sheer luxury of it. But everyone wants to get the best bang for their buck. Recently, a food blogger took to Twitter to share his thoughts on expensive meals at 5-star restaurants and asked fellow users to share their opinion on it.
The tweet read, "7500 plus tax! Nearly 10 grand per person for a meal in Bengaluru! For food alone, five courses look good but not overly spectacular or exotic. Is it just me who thinks our five-star hotels now dwell in a parallel universe!?"

Other Twitter responded to the tweet and many of them agreed with him.
One user suggested that 5-star hotels' food is for corporates and the cream of society, not middle-class people.
It's for corporates and cream of society not worth for middle class— Randomthiswayy (@Randomthiswayy) April 27, 2023
Another user that meals at 5-star said that meals at restaurants are usually sponsored by companies for business meetings. "It's more to satisfy the business interest than the stomach," he said.
Most of the bills are paid by sponsors … like company paid , corporate sponsor , marketing expenditure, advocacy development, business deal meet etc., so it's more to satisfy the business interest than the stomach 🤓— medixraghu (@medixraghu) April 27, 2023
One user ranted that the food doesn't even taste that great at luxury hotels.
Forget about food satisfying our soul …that food doesn't even satisfy our tastebuds!!— babruvahana (@babruvahanaa) April 27, 2023
Another user agreed that the taste doesn't justify the price of the food and the services.
Yea they're pretty expensive with a taste that doesn't justify the price and services— Darshil Shah (@darshilvshah) April 27, 2023

Fine dining is a scam. Its more of presentation and ambience of the place than the food.— 🔴⚪ಯಾನ್ ತುಳುವೆ 🚩 (@YaanTuluve) April 27, 2023
There are way better meals to be had for a fraction of the price— FootyFlex (@StatsMerchant) April 27, 2023
Not just the 5 stars but many standalone fine-dine restaurants are also over-priced.. And barring a few legendary names, quality of food everywhere is mediocre.. Huge gap in VFM compared to other metro's..— Anup Kumar (@KumarWini) April 27, 2023
