The second wave of Coronavirus pandemic in India has put a huge burden on the health infrastructure. Doctors and medical practitioners are urging people to stay indoors and wear masks while venturing out, only if absolutely necessary. In these testing times, the community is coming together to help families with a variety of needs such as medicines, foods, hospital beds and other resources. The Sikh community too is trying to do their bit by providing meals for patients who are in quarantine. Their selfless service came to light in a recent report by news agency ANI. Take a look:

"Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhan Committee has started a separate 'langar sewa' for COVID-19 positive patients across the national capital. Food is being home-delivered to the patients," read the tweet. In the pictures, we can see volunteers preparing food in hygienic premises. The food is then packed into plastic containers, ready to be distributed and delivered among families with Covid patients.
A gurudwara in Noida's Sector 18 area has also been working along similar lines to provide langar food to patients. Take a look:

According to reports, the gurudwara in Noida had started this service in September 2020. The volunteers are making upto 5000 packets of food every day. "We are trying to help the families who are COVID positive and are unable to cook food. We are making packets of food for them and leave that in front of society gate and the security guard takes the packages of food to the families," said Gurpreet Singh, Head priest of the gurudwara.
