Delhi sees many food festivals all year-round but this one is going to be one of a kind. The upcoming food festival will see cuisines from different parts of the world coming together under one roof. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is organising 'G20 food festival' with various G20 member countries participating. Based on the theme of "Taste the World, Cherish The Diversity" and "International Year of Millets", the festival will be held in New Delhi for two days - February 11 and February 12, 2023, at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium.
The Group of Twenty (G20) includes 19 countries - Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States, along with the European Union. NDMC has invited the G20 countries along with other guest countries to be a part of this mega food festival. A total of 29 countries have already been invited.

NDMC revealed in a statement, "The main purpose of the Food Festival is for the public to enjoy food delicacies of G20 member countries and guest countries. All the G20 member nations and guest countries are invited to participate in this food festival."

The participant countries will be required to bring their own chefs, staff, and raw materials for the food preparations. However, space, stalls, electrical connection, water connection and other logistics support will be provided. The foods may be sold to the visitors on payment basis.
"Food preparation workshops or live demonstration counter may also be part of the food festival, including the display of photographs and write up on the cuisines," the NDMC added.

International cuisines are fast gaining popularity in India. With a large number of Chinese, Italian, Japanese and now, Korean restaurants riveting people's attention, we are open to exploring different global cuisines. The G20 food festival is expected to generate awareness on international cuisines as well as provide education and guidance on nutritional health and food preparation.
