Malaika Arora is one of the most celebrated foodies on social media. The diva keeps sharing glimpses of her indulgences - from time to time - keeping her fans updated with her culinary adventures. Considering the timeless beauty and Malaika's svelte figure, one would believe that she only gorges on healthy food like fruits and nuts or salads. However, to everyone's surprise, Malaika is a sucker for home-cooked desi meals. And, one of her recent Instagram Stories isn't any different. She shared a picture of a classic Maharashtrian dish - Amti bhaat.

Malaika's plate showed white steamed rice surrounded with Amti (a special dal). It was topped with what appears to be kala chana and green chopped spring onion. Don't forget the dollops of toop meaning ghee. For the unversed, typically, amti is a classic Maharashtrian-style dal (lentil recipe) that carries a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavours from tamarind pulp and jaggery along with a whole lot of ingredients. Usually, a special goda masala is used in preparing this. The actress added three hashtags "Homemade," "Amti bhaat" and "Toop" as the caption.

And, this is certainly not the first time Malaika Arora is enjoying a Maharashtrian dish. Last month, Malaika shared a snippet of her mid-day snacks and it was lip-smacking poha chivda. Typically, it is prepared with poha and a whole lot of homely spices, curry leaves and peanuts. No doubt, it tastes yummy.

Seems like Malaika Arora is a fan of comforting Maharashtrian dishes and makes sure that she treats herself to the same every now and then. In December, she shared a picture of her meal platter on Instagram Stories and made us hungry. Do you what was she eating this time? It was a gorgeous-looking plate filled with varan bhaat. White steamed rice topped with yellow daal and some ghee must be quite filling. There was a pickle too on the side.
When Malaika Arora gorged on a full-fledged heavenly Maharashtrian meal last time and shared it with us, she paired amti with thecha and nachni bhakri. Thecha is basically a spicy preparation made with chillies, garlic and other spices used as a side dish with meals. Nachni bhakri is basically ragi roti. In the caption, Malaika mentioned, “This amti recipe is bomb.”
