The internet is full of inspiring stories. We love to see people making the best out of their circumstances and finally achieving what they dream of doing. These stories tug at our heartstrings and inspire us to the core. Recently, one such tale of a delivery boy has been doing the rounds on the internet. While no job is insignificant, performing odd jobs to be self-sufficient while pursuing your ambition provides a unique sense of fulfillment. A young boy from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has landed a job at an IT firm after spending most of his college years delivering food and groceries to people.
Shaik Abdul Sathar of Visakhapatnam took up jobs throughout his senior year of college to make his ends meet. Sathar has done everything, from delivering food for Zomato and Swiggy to driving cars for Ola and Uber and even offering rides for Rapido. Recently, Sathar shared his story on social media and has caught the attention of many people. In a post on LinkedIn, he said, "I'm a delivery boy with a dream." He explained in the post that he has been taking different jobs since his final year of college so that he could financially contribute to his family. He also added that since his father is a contract worker, he only had just enough to get by.
As Sathar started the jobs to be financially independent, he got casual advice from his friend to learn to code one day. He further added that "One day, I got casual advice to learn coding. My friend told me about a course and insisted that I join it. I took his suggestion seriously and spent my mornings learning to code."
Then Sathar not only used to do deliveries from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM, but he also learned coding side by side. With his hard work and will to achieve his goals, the man was soon able to apply for companies and finally landed a job.
In the post, he said, "Soon I was able to build web applications on my own I did a few projects and started applying for companies. My delivery boy experience helped me build communication skills, and I built coding skills at NxtWave. Soon, I got placed at Probe Information Services Pvt Ltd (Probe42) as a software engineer. From a place where I had to be careful about every rupee, I came to a stage where I can clear my parents' debts with a few months' salaries." Check out his full post here:
