Using leftover sabzis to make parathas and sandwiches is something we all do. Aloo gobhi is one of those dishes that make for the best stuffing for sandwiches. Our mothers make it, we make it, and celebrity Mini Mathur also makes it. And wait, she made the sandwich in the most classic manner - on gas. Sounds familiar? We have grown up eating toast and sandwiches cooked directly on gas stoves when sandwich makers and grillers were uncommon. The desi toasties always won our hearts and it seems like Mini Mathur still prefers her meal this way.
Continuing the Indian kitchen tradition, Mini Mathur donned the hat of a typical Indian mom and made a sandwich with last night's aloo gobhi sabzi for her daughter Sairah Kabir. She cooked the toastie on gas in the stove-top sandwich toaster, as we all did in older times.
She shared the image of the breakfast in the making on her Instagram stories and wrote, "Are you even an Indian mom if you haven't given you kid a gas wala toastie with last night's aloo gobhi? Sorry @Sairahkabir."
Take a look:
Mini Mathur should give herself a break as she is not always looking for shortcuts in the kitchen. Just recently, she impressed us with her culinary by making homemade pasta. And not just regular pasta but a really fancy one. She even shared a snap of it on Instagram and revealed the dish: "Homemade pasta with pomodoro sauce made with Sicilian tomatoes, fresh burrata, and pesto infused oil." Check it out here.
Coming back to this morning's breakfast, we are still reminiscing over the old style of sandwich made with leftover sabzis. In fact, there are many ways you can use last night's leftover food to make some interesting breakfast dishes. Check out these ideas.
