It's difficult to resist chocolate treats even for the best of us. And, there are so many options, including chocolate clusters, bars, and gummy candies, that you are spoilt for choice. However, too much chocolate is not always healthy for you. While devouring chocolate desserts can be a therapy at times, there are high chances of you ending up consuming too many calories. For those who are on a diet, it can be downright unbearable. But don't panic! Celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala has a healthy substitute that allows you to enjoy chocolate guilt free.
As per Yasmin, this also makes for a great pre/post workout snack and is high in protein. The video shared by the fitness trainer features her relishing a mouthful of the sweet treat. "Give in to that sweet tooth craving guilt-free. This tastes just like the real thing, or maybe even more satisfying. Also, it could be a great pre/ post workout snack and it's high in protein," she wrote in the caption. In the video, Yasmin also shared the recipe to make delicious-looking chocolate treats at home.
Roasted hazelnuts - 1 and 1/4 cup plus 4 for centre
Dates, pitted and soaked in water - 1/2 cup
Water (reserved from soaking the dates) - 1/4 cup
Vegan chocolate protein - 4 Tbsp
Cocoa powder - 2 Tbsp
Dark chocolate - 100 gm
Step 1: In a food processor, add 1 cup of roasted hazelnuts, soaked dates, cocoa powder, protein powder, and water. Blend until the mixture is sticky.
Step 2: Make a flat pancake, and place a full roasted hazelnut in the centre. Now roll it into a ball.
Step 3: Keep the balls in the freezer for at least 30 mins.
Step 4: Melt the dark chocolate and dip the pancake balls into it. Make sure you put a generous coating. Crush the remaining hazelnut and sprinkle it over.
Step 5: Now freeze for 60 mins and enjoy.
