Red wine is one of the most preferred alcohol choices across the globe. Whether you are relaxing after a long day or enjoying a get-together with your friends, a glass of red wine goes a long way. But let's be honest, holding a glass of wine while moving around in the room can be scary. Courtesy, its notorious stains, that honestly take the life out of the washing machine to get rid of. A video, making rounds on the internet, claims to resolve this dilemma. The video was shared by Zachary Pozniak, who calls himself “New York's finest dry cleaner”. In the clip, Pozniak demonstrates how to remove the red-white stains from a white carpet, using some kitchen ingredients and some home appliances.
In a bid to demonstrate the red wine stains cleaning process, Pozniak first pours some wine on his white and sky blue-hued carpet. If that wasn't enough, Pozniak even revealed that he was going to let that stain sit overnight. The video opens with Pozniak saying, “I am going to show you how to get red wine out of a white carpet. But I am also going to let this sit overnight to make it a little harder for myself because this is actually pretty easy.” Didn't believe him? Wait till the end of the video. All you need to do this job is some vinegar, water, a clean towel, and an iron and you will have your white carpet back as new. Pour the water and vinegar mixture on the stain and put a towel on top of it. Next, iron on the towel until you see the stain transferring on the towel. Repeat the process until your stain is gone completely.
Lastly, you need hydrogen peroxide to fix the remaining tint on your carpet. Pozniak aka “Laundry Jesus”, shared the video with the caption, “How to remove red wine from carpet - a dry cleaners guide: Get to it sooner than later, a fresh stain is much easier to remove than an old stain. Mix 3 parts water to 1 part white vinegar and pour it over the stain. Put a clean towel over the stain and iron with steam. Repeat until you are happy. Treat with hydrogen peroxide to correct any remaining colour. The goal here is to use the vinegar to counteract the tannins in wine and the heat from the iron to draw up and transfer the stain solution mixture (water and vinegar) into the towel.”
