Chugging different types of drinks and eating various dishes in the quickest possible manner are common categories for Guinness World Records (GWR). The organisation often shares videos of some of these feats on their social media pages, leaving us to marvel at the speed of the contestants. Recently, GWR shared yet another clip of such an achievement. In the video, we see a man gulping down a yellowish liquid from a container, using a straw. The caption of the post reveals that he is the world record holder for "Fastest time to drink one litre of lemon juice through a straw".

Are you wondering just how fast he was? David Rush from the USA managed to complete drinking in just 13.64 seconds! As per GWR, he beat the previous record by 3 seconds. Although the record was set in January 2024, GWR's recent Instagram reel on the same has grabbed many eyeballs online.

By the time he was 36 years old, David Rush had broken nearly 200 Guinness World Records titles. As per GWR, he has "broken records that involved him trekking the farthest distance with a bike on his chin to stuffing over 120 blueberries into his mouth." Before the attempt at the lemon juice record, David reportedly practised with a litre of water first.
As per GWR, before the attempts for these records, David prepares by doing four things: "1) experimenting with his breathing, 2) determining whether he should sit or stand, 3) Thinking of how to best position his body and 4) testing what slurping method works best when consuming liquids".
