Will you ever suspect a food delivery order going horribly wrong to the extent that you even get hurt? Highly unlikely, right? But a woman in Bengaluru actually suffered a great deal after ordering her food from a popular food delivery app. According to her, she was hit by the delivery driver just because she refused to take the order as it was delivered late. The horrific incident happened with Hitesha Chandranee, a content creator, who ordered her food from the Zomato app and was left with a bleeding nose after the delivery boy punched her and ran away. Hitesha Chandranee posted a series of videos on her Twitter and Instagram accounts right after the incident and after receiving medical help. While narrating her ordeal, she revealed that she had ordered food from Zomato at around 3.30 pm and was expecting it to be delivered by 4.30 pm. When she did not get it on time, she started following up with customer care and requested her order to be either cancelled or be given free of cost. Meanwhile, the delivery man showed up and when Hitesha asked him to wait for customer care's confirmation on the status of the order, he lost his cool and punched her on the face, leaving her nose badly injured and bleeding.

Hitesha posted this video on Instagram with the caption: "Zomato - are we really safe using your services? So, guys, many of you did not quite get what happened, so here it is, please let me know who expects such behaviour from the delivery person and how are we safe if this is going around us. I need support from all you guys to get hold of Zomato people and the guy who did (this), please support me and help with this issue."
The Instagram video has raked in 15.4m views and more than 25k likes.

In response, Zomato apologised through an official statement, saying, "We deeply regret this incident and apologise to Hitesha for this traumatic experience. We are in touch with her and are providing our complete support through the necessary medical care and investigation. Meanwhile, we have delisted the delivery partner from our platform. According to reports, the Zomato delivery driver alleged with this violent crime has been arrested.
