With lockdowns imposed in most places and the pandemic making it generally more unsafe for people to eat out, ordering in has become the means of indulging for foodies in the last year. But ordering food comes with its own trials and tribulations. It is not uncommon to have your order mixed up and be sent the wrong set of food items. In a Facebook post on June 1, 2021, Alique Perez described her experience ordering fried chicken for her son from the popular fast food chain 'Jollibee'. When her son tried and failed to take a bit out of a piece, she pulled the piece apart with her hands and found to her absolute shock that what was supposed to be fried chicken was actually a deep-fried towel.
Apparently, this was not the first time Jollibee Food Corp has received complaints of there being strange things in people's food. "I really thought that the post complaining about weird stuff in their orders were just all made up, now I know that really happens", Perez said in her viral Facebook post. In a span of six days, her Facebook post received more than 1 lakh reactions and was shared more than 87,000 times.
