Ingredients of Aloo Pyaaz Pakora

  • 2 big potatoes
  • 2 big onions, sliced
  • 5-6 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 2 cups besan
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 tsp haldi
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

How to Make Aloo Pyaaz Pakora

Peel and wash the potatoes. Grate them using the side of the grater with the larger holes.

Soak the grated potatoes in 2 cups of water. Add ½ tsp haldi and 1 tsp salt to the water. Soak for 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, add the onions and green chillies. Gently crush them with your hands.

Squeeze the water out of the grated potatoes. Take care not to mash it while doing so. Add them to the onion mixture.

Add chilli powder, coriander powder, ajwain seeds, garlic, sugar, coriander leaves and rice flour to the bowl.

Lastly, add the besan little by little. Continue mixing the ingredients as you do so.
7.
Add 1 tbsp oil to this mixture and combine well. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
8.
Deep fry small portions of the mixture until golden brown and crisp. Serve the pakoras hot with green chutney and/or ketchup.
