  • 2 Cups broccoli florets (steamed or blanched)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts (you can also use almonds or walnuts)
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oi
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Broccoli Pesto

Start by steaming or blanching the broccoli florets until they are tender but still bright green. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes. Then, transfer them to an ice bath to cool down quickly.
In a mixer-grinder, combine the blanched broccoli, fresh basil, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and toasted pine nuts.
Pulse the ingredients until they are finely chopped.
Slowly drizzle in the olive oil and blend again until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
Add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste. Give it one final whirl in the food processor to combine all the flavours.
