Dalitoye is a quintessential and popular Konkani style dal recipe that is made by using most basic ingredients available in the pantry.

Ingredients of Dalitoye

  • 1 Cup Toor dal
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3-4 Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Hing
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander

How to Make Dalitoye

  • 1.Pressure cook toor dal, green chillies, salt and add oil.
  • 2.Switch off the flame after two whistes or until dal is soft.
  • 3.Blend the dal in the blender or use your hands to mash it.
  • 4.Heat coconut oil in separate pan and add mustard seeds, hind, red chilli, and curry leaves. Now, pour the dal mixture into the pan
  • 5.Serve it hot with steamed rice.
