Indian dessert made with semolina, jaggery and loads of nuts. This halwa is perfect to ward off cold and cough blues.

Ingredients of Gud Ka Halwa

  • 2 1/2 Tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup semolina, soaked in water
  • 50 gm gud soaked in 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Saffron, a pinch
  • 50 gm sliced pistachio
  • 50 gm sliced almonds
  • 4 Tbsp shakkar / brown sugar

How to Make Gud Ka Halwa

1.Soak semolina in water for 20 minutes.
2.Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel, add the semolina and roast till it turns brown.
3.Add the jaggery water and cardamom powder, saffron, green pista, almonds, brown sugar and continue stirring till the halwa reached desired consistency.
4.Serve hot.
