About Kerala Mutton Stew Recipe: Succulent chunks of mutton simmered in delicate southern flavors of coconut milk, curry leaves, cinnamon etc.

Ingredients of Kerala Mutton Stew

  • 500 gms cubed mutton (boiled with 10 gm ginger)
  • 100 gms onion, sliced
  • 5 gms green chillies (slit)
  • 10 gms ginger strips
  • 1 tsp pepper corns
  • 10 Curry pattas
  • 1 coconut, grated
  • to taste Salt
  • 100 gms oil
  • 150 gms cubed potatoes
  • 50 gms diced carrot
  • For sabut garam masala:
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 4 Cardamoms
  • 4 Cloves

How to Make Kerala Mutton Stew

  • 1.Boil mutton along with ginger. Set aside.
  • 2.Boil potatoes and carrots. Set aside.
  • 3.Extract coconut milk twice.
  • 4.Heat oil and saute sabut garam masala, onion, green chillies, ginger, curry patta, peppercorns.
  • 5.Add boiled mutton, potatoes and carrot along with second extract of coconut milk and cook. Add salt to taste.
  • 6.Stir first extract of coconut milk just before serving.
